Cole Carothers
Cole Carothers (b. 1949), a Cincinnati native, received his BA in 1971 from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO and his MFA in 1978 from American University in Washington, DC. From 1978-81, he was the instructor in Art, Art History, and Theater Design at St. Andrew's School, Middletown, Delaware. He has also taught painting at the Art Academy of Cincinnati 1981-83 and was Adjunct Associate Professor of Design at the College of DAAP, University of Cincinnati from 1985-92. While teaching in multiple universities, Cole Carothers continued to paint and participate in exhibitions across the country. Between 1998-2004 he served as Program Director for the Baker Hunt Arts and Cultural Center in Covington, KY. In Carother's words, "My goal, as an artist, is to create paintings that imagine and reveal the immensity and wonder of our world; paintings that elicit pause, calm and joy to the viewer."
