Felix Eboigbe
Originally from Aba, Nigeria, Eboigbe apprenticed under sculptor Ben Aye at 17 and later studied at Lagos University. In 1967 he opened a Lagos studio, where international recognition soon followed, leading to an invitation to the U.S. as a resident sculptor. He spent twelve years teaching at Indiana University before moving to Cincinnati in 1983, where he continues to work.
Eboigbe sculpts primarily in wood, creating both abstract and realistic works inspired by African traditions, personal memory, and influences like Henry Moore. His pieces range from masks to monumental figures, often reflecting stories from his heritage.
