Felix Eboigbe

Originally from Aba, Nigeria, Felix Eboigbe apprenticed under sculptor Ben Aye at 17 and later studied at Lagos University. In 1967 he opened a Lagos studio, where international recognition soon followed, leading to an invitation to the U.S. as a resident sculptor. He spent twelve years teaching at Indiana University before moving to Cincinnati in 1983, where he continued to work until 2025. Creating both abstract and realistic works inspired by African traditions, personal memory, and influences like Henry Moore. His pieces range from masks to monumental figures, often reflecting stories from his heritage.
