Artworks › Thomas F. Zuck - Untitled (Nude)

Thomas F. Zuck - Untitled (Nude)

$950.00
Vintage Photograph
19 x 16 ″

Dr. Thomas Zuck (1933-2014) was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was both a physician and a photographer, known for his work with the Hoxworth Blood Center. His wife Susan Zuck was herself an artist, producing a body of landscape and narrative paintings. Thomas Zuck, on the other hand, primarily took interest in capturing the nude form, using models in subdued and alluring poses, heavy contrasting shadows granting an almost surrealist touch to some images. His style reflects a time in which photography was gradually becoming more recognized as an artform, with nudes as subject matter bridging the gap between it and the fine art world.
