As a young child, Ellen Diamond was captivated by the beauty and imagination of art. Growing up in a home immersed in the art world, she was deeply influenced by her father, renowned portrait painter Ben Clements. Museums throughout New York City introduced her to the works of Matisse, Monet, Bonnard, and other masters, shaping her lifelong passion for painting.

Her formal training at New York University included both abstraction and traditional techniques. She developed a distinctive style centered on shape, color, and light, earning recognition from critics and collectors.

A first trip to Provence profoundly influenced her work. Inspired by the luminous landscapes and vibrant colors of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Les Baux, and Antibes, she returned summer after summer, translating the region’s beauty into her contemporary impressionist paintings. At home in Northern Florida, she finds similar inspiration in the area’s unique light, color, and marshland landscapes.
