P.A. Nisbet - In the Heat of the Day, 2011

$10,800.00
15 x 24 ″

Oil on Linen15" x 24"Framed Dimensions 19.25" x 27.25"National Park: Grand Canyon National Park Description: This painting began as a workshop demonstration in front of fifty artists. I was trying to show how a swift blocking in of tones with a rag could open up a motif that had yet to be visualized. Once the blended paint dried, I carved out the painting in the studio using brushes and medium. No references were employed during the creation of this painting, just simple impulse and imagination. As the work evolved I began to portray a very hot afternoon hike on the Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon. This is a memory painting, one that reflects many years of travel in the canyons and deserts of the Southwest.
