Born in 1956 in Brooklyn, raised in Long Island, and currently living in the Catskills, Barry DeBaun paints from his love of the nature that surrounds him, from the ocean to the mountains to the woods. He is poetic in his work with oils and watercolor, influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and the American Impressionists in the way he renders figures, seascapes, and still lives. He has won several competitions and awards, from associations such as the American Artists' Professional League, the Kent Art Association, and the Hudson Valley Art Association.
